Australian State Summaries

QLD: A high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight will bring sunny weather to most of South Australia. A band of clouds will bring rain to northern, central, and southern Queensland before moving eastward. A new trough may bring more rain to southern Queensland next week.

NSW and ACT: A cold front is moving through the northeast of the state while a ridge is forming over the rest of the state from a high pressure system. The cold front will move away by tomorrow, with the ridge covering the entire state and lasting through the week as the high pressure system moves east.

VIC: A weak weather system near Tasmania will keep moving east. A strong weather system near South Australia will bring cool southwesterly winds to Victoria for the rest of the week. The high pressure system will move towards Bass Strait on Saturday and then to the Tasman Sea on Sunday.

SA: A big storm near Tasmania will move east. A high pressure system will hang out near the Bight waters this week, then head east over the weekend.

WA: A big stretch of clouds is covering the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, and North Interior areas, causing unexpected rain and some heavy downpours. The rain should clear by early Wednesday.

TAS: A strong wind is coming from the southwest over Tasmania as a storm moves away and a high pressure system moves in. This windy weather will last until Thursday as the high moves closer. By Friday, the high will be over Victoria and by Saturday it will be over Bass Strait.

NT: A big line of clouds is causing unexpected rain in the middle and south of Australia. The rain will ease up by Wednesday afternoon. The clouds are moving east and will leave the Northern Territory by Thursday. A high pressure system is forming in the Bight, sending cool air north. The Top End will get this cool air by the end of the week, making it less humid.
