QLD: A high pressure system in the Great Australian Bight is bringing some nice weather to most of the state. There's a weak line of high pressure over northern New South Wales that will slowly move south, away from Queensland by Thursday.
NSW and ACT: A strong high pressure system in the southeast is causing wet and windy weather on the East Coast, particularly around the Mid North Coast. A coastal trough is moving north, while another low pressure system is forming off the coast. Cold fronts are expected to bring more rain over the weekend.
VIC: A strong high pressure system is over the Tasman Sea. A low pressure trough will move through the southern part of the state today, followed by another high on Thursday. A low pressure system may form on the NSW coast and move south towards eastern Victoria on Friday and Saturday.
SA: A band of low pressure is passing through the South Agricultural Regions this morning. A strong area of high pressure will come in from the west behind it, creating a line of high pressure across the state. Cold fronts are expected to pass through the southern areas over the weekend and early next week.
WA: A strong high pressure system in the Bight is pushing easterly winds towards northern WA, bringing gusty conditions in the mornings. By Friday, the winds will ease as a trough develops in the north, possibly bringing light rainfall to the Kimberley and North Interior regions until then.
TAS: A strong weather system over the Tasman Sea will bring light winds from the north to northwest over Tasmania. A trough will move through the southwest later today, followed by a high pressure system on Thursday. The high will stick around until Saturday when a low pressure system from Victoria moves in, followed by a cold front from the west.
NT: A low-pressure system will pass through the south of Australia today, followed by a high-pressure system that will keep things dry in the Northern Territory. Expect some scattered showers in central areas by the middle of the week, with another trough bringing rain to the south towards the weekend.
