Australian State Summaries

QLD: Queensland has a high ridge causing dry and cool winds, bringing sunny weather. There will be some showers in the southeast. A coastal trough in New South Wales will also bring moisture and rain to the area.

NSW and ACT: A strong high pressure system in the southwest is causing wet and windy weather in the east, especially in the Hunter and Mid North Coast. A coastal trough is moving northwards, but will weaken by the end of the week. Cold fronts and troughs from the west will bring more rain next week.

VIC: A strong weather system is over the Tasman Sea. A weak low pressure system will move through the south on Wednesday followed by a high on Thursday. Another low pressure system near the NSW coast may move south towards eastern Victoria on Friday.

SA: A strong weather system near Tasmania is slowly moving east. Expect rain on the west coast today and in the south tomorrow morning. Another strong system will move through later in the week, followed by a cold front from the west this weekend.

WA: A ridge down south will steer strong easterly winds over northern WA, getting gusty in the mornings. Some areas in the Kimberley and North Interior may see a bit of light rain from Wednesday to Friday due to scattered clouds.

TAS: A strong high pressure system is north of Tasmania, moving towards the Tasman Sea today. This will bring warm northwesterly winds before a weak trough arrives on Wednesday. By Thursday, a new high will form in northern Tasmania. The high will then move over the Tasman Sea on Friday, keeping Tasmania under its influence.

NT: A big high pressure system over southeast Australia is bringing dry and cooler winds to the Northern Territory. It will move eastward today, while another high will come in later and keep things dry. Some clouds will bring showers to the central areas by mid-week.
