Australian State Summaries

QLD: A weak high in the Tasman Sea is keeping the east coast dry, while a trough is developing off the southeast coast. Another trough in the central to southern interior will move eastward, eventually moving out over the Coral Sea by the weekend. Afterward, a new ridge will build over most of the state.

NSW and ACT: A big low-pressure system is hanging around central Queensland and New South Wales until Friday. Up north, a trough will turn into a low-pressure system before moving away on Friday. A cold front is coming over the weekend, maybe forming another trough next week.

VIC: A strong high pressure system in the Bight is sending cooler southerly winds over Victoria. This will continue until a powerful cold front arrives on Friday night and Saturday.

SA: A strong high pressure system over Western Australia will bring clear weather. A cold front will pass through the southeast on Friday, followed by the high pressure system moving towards the Great Australian Bight on Saturday and Kangaroo Island on Sunday.

WA: A ridge in the south will keep strong easterly winds blowing over northern areas of the state, particularly in the mornings.

TAS: Tasmania will have a breezy day on Thursday with winds coming from the west to northwest. A cold front will bring cooler weather on Friday, followed by a southwest wind. Over the weekend, a high pressure system will move in from the west, bringing calm weather to Tasmania.

NT: A strong high-pressure system is moving into the Great Australian Bight, bringing cooler winds from the southeast to central Australia over the next few days.
