Australian State Summaries

QLD: A weak high in the Tasman Sea is keeping things dry in eastern Queensland. A trough in the central interior will bring some showers to the south. Another trough is expected to form off the southeast coast. The inland trough will shift eastward later this week, heading towards the Coral Sea.

NSW and ACT: A big weather system will hang around the west of the state for a few days, then weaken and head east over the weekend. A cold front will also move across the state over the weekend, potentially creating a coastal trough early next week.

VIC: A weak high pressure system is over Victoria. A trough will move south of the state on Wednesday followed by a cooler southerly flow from a new high pressure system in the Bight. On Thursday, a ridge remains before a cold front arrives late on Friday and Saturday.

SA: A strong high pressure system in the west will move slowly towards the east, bringing clear skies and light winds. By Saturday, the high pressure centre will be located south of the Bight, leading to stable weather conditions across the state.

WA: A high ridge in the south will keep strong east winds blowing in the mornings across the northern parts of the state. Winds may be fresh and gusty at times.

TAS: A cold front will bring cooler weather to Tasmania on Wednesday, followed by windy conditions from the west. A high pressure system will bring more stable weather on Thursday, before another cold front arrives on Friday. By Saturday, a high pressure system will move in from the west, bringing calm conditions.

NT: A long ridge will stay over Australia. Less rain in the Top End as dry air moves in. Showers will move to the northeast. A high pressure system will move into the Great Australian Bight on Thursday.
