Australian State Summaries

QLD: A strong ridge will stick around for a few days, thanks to a high pressure system near the Tasman Sea. A weak trough in the north will bring strong winds and rough seas to the east coast of Queensland. These conditions will ease off next week.

NSW and ACT: A strong high-pressure system above Victoria is spreading a ridge over NSW, moving towards the Tasman Sea. It will slowly move eastward next week, keeping a ridge over NSW as weak cold fronts pass through the south.

VIC: A high-pressure ridge is sitting over Victoria. Some weak troughs will move south of the state on Monday and Tuesday. Then, a new high-pressure system in the Bight will bring cooler southerly winds from Wednesday.

SA: A strong high pressure system over Victoria will bring calm weather as it moves east towards the Tasman Sea. Another high pressure system from the west will maintain settled conditions early next week. A trough may affect the southeast region next week.

WA: A raised area of land in the south will keep winds blowing from the east across the top part of Western Australia.

TAS: A strong high pressure system over Victoria is bringing strong westerly winds to Tasmania. The high will move east, bringing northwesterly winds before a weak cold front arrives on Monday. A stronger cold front is expected on Tuesday.

NT: A high pressure system will move from the Northern Territory to the Tasman Sea on Saturday, creating a ridge across the region.
