Morning fog is expected in the southeast. Southeasterly winds will pick up along the east coast. Temperatures will be higher than usual in the south and central regions.
Friday, 9th May
Today will be mostly sunny in the west with some isolated showers in the interior east of Augathella to Hughenden. There may also be isolated showers in other areas, which could become more scattered along the east coast. There is a chance of a thunderstorm in the Torres Strait. Winds will be fresh to strong from the southeast along the east coast. Surf conditions along the southern Queensland coast may be hazardous. Temperatures will be higher than usual in inland central and southern Queensland, but near or slightly below average in other areas.
Saturday, 10th May
Today will be mostly sunny in the western part of the country, with some scattered showers in the east. Showers may become more widespread in the Wet Tropics area. There will be strong winds along the east coast and a chance of a thunderstorm in Torres Strait. Surf conditions could be dangerous in southern Queensland. Temperatures will be around average, but slightly higher in the far southwest.
Sunday, 11th May
It's going to be mostly sunny in the west, with some scattered showers moving towards the interior east of Richmond to Charleville. There will also be isolated showers in other areas, with more rain expected on the east coast. The North Tropical Coast and South East may experience widespread showers over the weekend and early next week. There is a chance of thunderstorms in Torres Strait. Temperatures will be around average, but slightly warmer inland in southern Queensland.
