QLD: A big high near New Zealand is making strong winds along the east coast. It will stick around most of the week but weaken a bit in the middle. Another high moving over the Great Australian Bight will make the winds stronger later in the week. More windy weather is expected into the weekend.
NSW and ACT: A high pressure system near Australia is moving towards the east coast, bringing a cold front and southerly winds to the southwest. This will be followed by another high pressure system in the southeast later in the week.
VIC: Today, a trough is coming from the west. Tomorrow, a cold front will move across Victoria. By Wednesday night, a new high pressure system over the Bight will bring a ridge over Victoria. The high will gradually pass through Victoria on Thursday and Friday.
SA: A strong ridge of high pressure will stick around in the north of South Australia while some weaker troughs move over the southern coasts in the next few days. A high pressure system will move in below the Bight on Wednesday and then head over to Victoria later in the week before moving towards the Tasman Sea this weekend.
WA: A ridge in the south will get stronger this week, keeping the wind coming from the east in the northern areas.
TAS: Tasmania will have windy northwesterly winds ahead of a cold front on Wednesday, followed by cooler southwesterly winds. Victoria will have lighter westerly winds on Thursday due to a high pressure system.
NT: A high pressure system is moving into the Bight, bringing dry winds to most of the Top End in the Northern Territory. However, the northeast region will continue to experience humid easterly winds due to a ridge extending across the area.
