Australian State Summaries

QLD: A big high pressure system near Tasmania is bringing stable weather to the state. It will gradually move eastward over the next few days, bringing calm conditions until the weekend when it starts to weaken. Another high may arrive in the Great Australian Bight by next Wednesday.

NSW and ACT: A low pressure system is moving up the coast, causing rough weather and strong waves. A high pressure system in the west will bring calmer conditions on Friday. The system will move south and west over the weekend. Another cold front is expected early next week.

VIC: A high pressure system in the Bight is bringing cool southeasterly winds to Victoria. The high will move towards Bass Strait then the Tasman Sea. Warmer and drier weather with northerly winds is expected over the weekend.

SA: A big high pressure system near Mount Gambier will slowly move east and sit over the Tasman Sea by the weekend, keeping a ridge over South Australia.

WA: A raised area in the south of the state is causing a strong eastward wind over the waters near Pilbara and Kimberley, which will calm down towards the end of the week.

TAS: A high-pressure system is bringing cool southerly winds across the state, moving towards Tasmania. It will pass over Bass Strait before heading east. A warm northerly wind is forecasted for the weekend, followed by a cold front next week.

NT: A ridge is causing a dry southeasterly wind to blow through most of the Northern Territory, except for the far northeast. The eastern Top End will experience more humid easterly winds starting Saturday, while the western Top End will see this change on Sunday.
