There may be fog in the southeast interior in the morning. Mostly sunny in the southwest, occasional clouds in the northwest, and partly cloudy elsewhere. Temperatures will be lower than usual in the west and southern interior, especially in the far west, with near normal temperatures elsewhere.
Thursday, 1st May
There will be some light rain showers in the east coast south of Cooktown, with a few thunderstorms around northern Cape York Peninsula. Rain will become more widespread in Torres Strait. It will be mostly sunny in the south and west, and partly cloudy everywhere else. Temperatures will be around average in the east, cooler than average in the southwest, and slightly cooler elsewhere.

There will be a few showers on the east coast and over Cape York Peninsula, with a slight chance of a thunderstorm in the north. It will be partly cloudy in other areas. Temperatures will be around normal near Mackay but cooler in other parts of the east coast.
Saturday, 3rd May
There will be a few showers in the east and over Cape York Peninsula, with a slight chance of a thunderstorm in the north. Other areas will be partly cloudy. Temperatures will be lower than usual in Queensland, but will gradually increase to normal levels by next week.
