QLD: A long line of high ground spreads across most of the state, getting stronger and lasting for most of next week. A low-pressure area is expected to move up the southeast coast from New South Wales on Thursday and Friday.
NSW and ACT: A low-pressure system is moving east over the Tasman Sea, while a high-pressure ridge is in the west. A cold front will reach the south coast on Tuesday, weakening to a trough and moving north. By the end of the week, a strong high-pressure system will bring east to southeasterly winds.
VIC: A high pressure system in the Bight is bringing cooler southerly winds to Victoria until mid-week, with a weak cold front passing through the southeast today. The high will move through Bass Strait on Thursday and then gradually move into the Tasman Sea by Friday.
SA: There's a strong high pressure system near Perth, pushing a ridge over waters in southern SA. A weak trough and upper level system will affect southern SA on Tuesday. The high will move south of the Bight mid-week, then east over the Tasman Sea by the weekend.
WA: A weak area of low pressure is near the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. A high-pressure system in southern WA will move the low-pressure area out to sea in the mornings this week.
TAS: A high pressure system over the Bight will bring cool southerly winds to Tasmania. The system will move over the state from Wednesday to Friday.
NT: A weak tropical low near Arafura Sea will bring rain and storms to the Top End. A cloud band stretches to Barkly District. A ridge in central Australia will push dry air to the Top End by mid-week.
