Australian State Summaries

QLD: A long line of high ground covers most of the state. A weak band of low pressure moving across southern Queensland will shift towards the southeast coast by the end of today. The high ground will get stronger and spread across the rest of the state after the band passes, lasting for most of next week.

NSW and ACT: A line of low pressure is moving along the New South Wales coast and will become a low pressure system near the Mid North Coast or Hunter coast today. It will move east on Monday as high pressure comes in from the west. There may be another low in the southeast on Tuesday.

VIC: In Victoria, a high pressure system in the Bight is bringing cooler southerly winds until mid-week. Cold fronts are moving south of the state.

SA: A strong high pressure system near Perth will bring calm weather to the south, with a cold front expected to move through early in the week. The high will shift southwards by mid-week, keeping a cool southeasterly breeze across the state.

WA: A line of low pressure is near the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. A band of high pressure in southern WA will move the low pressure away into the ocean in the mornings.

TAS: Today, a weak high pressure system is bringing calm weather to the state from the west. Later, a cold front will bring cooler temperatures from the south. On Monday, a weak trough will pass through Tasmania, followed by southerly winds on Tuesday from a high in the Bight. By Wednesday, the high will move closer to the west coast, keeping conditions stable.

NT: A high pressure system will move into central Australia, bringing a cool change to the Northern Territory next week. A tropical low in the Arafura Sea will move westward, bringing rain and storms to the Top End. Expect some showers with a cloud band in central areas on Monday and Tuesday.
