Australian State Summaries

QLD: A ridge will cover Queensland, with a weak trough moving east over the weekend. It will clear off the southeast coast by Monday morning. After the trough, the ridge will stick around for a few days and could get stronger by Thursday.

NSW and ACT: A weather system over northern NSW will head south and become a low pressure system on Sunday. Another system is moving across central and eastern parts before moving offshore. Onshore winds will continue as the low moves east and a high pressure system moves south next week.

VIC: A low-pressure area in western Australia will bring cooler air from the south as it moves east on Saturday. Another cold front will pass over Tasmania on Sunday, followed by a front in southern Victoria on Tuesday.

SA: A weak low pressure system near the NSW border will move east out of the state. A high pressure system west of Perth will bring clear skies to the south. A cold front will pass through the south early next week, with southerly winds across the state.

WA: A line of low pressure is near the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. A high pressure area in southern WA will move the low pressure line away in the mornings.

TAS: In the south of the state, a dying cold front will pass today. Later, a high-pressure system will cover the state from the west. On Sunday, a new cold front will approach from the south. Tasmania will see a weak trough on Monday and high pressure on Tuesday.

NT: A weather system is moving through the southern Northern Territory, making winds lighter in the north for a short time this weekend. After the system passes, a dry, cool breeze will move in from the southeast. A weak tropical low near the Arafura Sea is expected to move south or southeast before heading west.
