QLD: A strong high pressure system in southern Australia is pushing a ridge over most of Queensland. There's a weak trough in the northeast, which will stick around for a few days. The high will head east towards the Tasman Sea by Wednesday, increasing winds in the southeast. A new trough may bring some rain to southern Queensland over the weekend, followed by a ridge.
NSW and ACT: A low pressure system off the NSW coast will cause unsettled weather along the coast and nearby mountains for a few days. The system will weaken and move northeast, with a ridge forming in the south. A cold front will arrive from the southwest on Friday and pass through the state over the weekend.
VIC: A strong high pressure system over Tasmania will bring clear skies to Victoria, but will shift towards the east later in the week. This will be followed by a trough and cold front moving in from the west on Friday and Saturday, with another cold front expected on Monday.
SA: A big area of high pressure is sitting over Tasmania, keeping things calm over South Australia. A band of low pressure might swing through the far west in a few days.
WA: A high ridge will stay in the north while a trough in the west Pilbara is moving eastward on Thursday due to a new high pressure ridge in central areas of the state.
TAS: A strong high pressure system over Tasmania will shift east towards the Tasman Sea today. A cold front is expected to move in from the west on Thursday, passing over Tasmania on Friday. A band of high pressure will then move in from the west on Saturday.
NT: A big storm will be in the Arafura Sea all week. Dry winds from the south-east will come through the Territory due to a high in the Bight. There will be a trough moving through the south on Friday.
