Australian State Summaries

QLD: A low-pressure system is in the Gulf of Carpentaria, heading west. A weather system in western Queensland will move east across the state today and reach the east coast by Tuesday. A high pressure system near southern Australia will bring some relief to Queensland after the trough passes. The high will move east towards the Tasman Sea by Thursday, with slightly stronger winds in the southeast. A weak trough may affect southern Queensland by the end of the week.

NSW and ACT: A cold front and its trough are moving across eastern NSW today, creating a low pressure system near the coast. This system will move northeast, causing unsettled weather along the coast and ranges before a high pressure system pushes it offshore.

VIC: A weak low pressure system is moving slowly northeast across the State today, before heading into western NSW on Monday afternoon. A high pressure system in the Bight will bring some calm weather to Victoria later today.

SA: A weak weather system near South East Australia will move east and weaken over western Victoria on Monday. A high pressure system in southern Western Australia will move south on Monday and then southeast towards the Tasman Sea by midweek.

WA: A high point in the north of the state is expected to stay in place until at least the middle of the week.

TAS: A low pressure system is moving from western Victoria to the Tasman Sea today. A high pressure system from the Bight will bring clear skies to southern Victoria. The high will move over Tasmania on Tuesday and Wednesday. A cold front will arrive on Thursday, reaching the west coast in the evening.

NT: A strong weather system is moving into southern Australia, bringing strong winds and rain to the Northern Territory. A tropical low in the Gulf of Carpentaria will bring more rain to the Top End in the coming days.
