Queensland Synoptic

A high pressure system south of Tasmania is bringing southeasterly winds to most of Queensland, with conditions expected to ease by midweek. A trough over the northern Coral Sea is extending towards Papua New Guinea and the Arafura Sea, enhancing rainfall over the tip of Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait. This trough may move south over the Peninsula later in the week or over the weekend. Additionally, a low pressure system will develop over the Tasman Sea, leading to significant swells along the east coast of Australia later in the week. Residents in these areas should stay informed about changing weather conditions and be prepared for possible heavy rainfall and rough seas.
