QLD: A big high in the sea near Tasmania is bringing strong winds to most of Queensland. A trough in the northern Coral Sea is bringing rain to Cape York Peninsula. Another trough in eastern Queensland will bring showers to southeast Queensland before moving east on Monday.
NSW and ACT: A strong high-pressure system over the Tasman Sea is bringing calm weather to most of New South Wales. A cold front will move north through the state, slowing down in the central region on Tuesday and weakening by Wednesday. A weaker ridge will linger over the western part of the state.
VIC: A mild cold front will pass through southern Victoria early today, followed by a high pressure system moving to the Tasman Sea later today. It will linger there until next week.
SA: A big high in the Tasman Sea will bring warm weather to northern South Australia all week. A low-pressure trough will bring some rain to western areas on Tuesday, then move to the southern coast by Wednesday.
WA: A storm is brewing near Kimberley and could become a cyclone by Monday. Heavy rain may hit the northwest coast, depending on the storm's path. A slow-moving trough is also bringing unsettled weather to the western Pilbara region.
TAS: A cold front is moving across the state, bringing cool weather. A high pressure system will bring southeasterly winds. Tomorrow, the high will move south, bringing warmer northerly winds. A trough will bring unsettled weather on Wednesday and Thursday.
NT: A line of high pressure is moving across the Northern Territory from the Tasman Sea. A low-pressure area near the Arnhem coast will move north on Monday while the high-pressure ridge gets stronger. A tropical low in the Arafura Sea will move south towards the Top End and Gulf of Carpentaria later in the week.
