Australian State Summaries

QLD: A high pressure system will bring stronger winds to most of the state this weekend and early next week, moving eastwards towards the Tasman Sea. A trough in the far north will combine with the high to bring more rain to Far North Queensland. Showers will increase in southeast Queensland before moving offshore on Sunday.

NSW and ACT: A line of high pressure systems in the south and over the Tasman Sea will keep a ridge over New South Wales for the rest of this week and next week. This will bring in humid air from the coast, with more showers along the northern coast today due to a coastal trough.

VIC: A strong weather system near Tasmania will shift towards the Tasman Sea by the weekend. A mild cold front will pass through southern Victoria on Monday, followed by another high pressure system by late Monday. This high will linger over the Tasman Sea until the end of next week.

SA: A strong high pressure system near Tasmania will move to the east overnight, while another high pressure system will stay over South Australia. This means calm and settled weather for South Australia over the next few days and into next week.

WA: A big storm is brewing near the Kimberley area of Western Australia. It could turn into a cyclone soon, bringing strong winds and heavy rain. Another weather system is hanging around the Pilbara region, causing more wet and windy conditions.

TAS: A strong high pressure system will bring clear skies and calm weather to Tasmania today, before shifting eastwards into the Tasman Sea tomorrow. Winds will pick up from the northwest over the weekend, with a weak cold front bringing some showers on Sunday. Another high pressure system will move in on Monday, keeping conditions mostly dry with cool southeasterly winds. By Tuesday, the high will move southward, with northwesterly winds returning.

NT: A high pressure system in the Northern Territory will bring clear skies to the south, while a trough and low pressure system in the north will cause showers and thunderstorms. A tropical low in the northwest is moving towards the Timor Sea, bringing more rain to the Tiwi Islands and Cobourg Peninsula.
