Australian State Summaries

QLD: A big high over Victoria is bringing dry weather to most of Queensland. Another high coming from the south will keep things dry on the east coast. A trough in the Coral Sea could bring some rain to the northern part of the state this week.

NSW and ACT: A big area of high pressure is sitting over Victoria and spreading out to cover the state. It's going to move towards the southern Tasman Sea, keeping things pretty settled. Out west, a wide trough is forming. By the end of the week, there will be more showers as another trough sets up near the north coast.

VIC: A strong high pressure system will be over the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A low-pressure trough will pass through southern Victoria late Thursday, followed by another high moving over Tasmania on Friday. This high will stay over the Tasman Sea for a few days, extending a ridge over Victoria.

SA: A line of low pressure will form in the west today and move eastward across central and eastern regions by Thursday. A new area of high pressure will move over the southern waters on Friday, then shift over the Tasman Sea by the weekend, bringing stable conditions to South Australia.

WA: A wide trough is sitting over the north. It will move towards the Pilbara and Kimberley coasts as a ridge in the south gets stronger, bringing moderate to fresh easterly winds.

TAS: A strong high-pressure system in the Tasman Sea will bring light winds from the northwest to Tasmania today. A weak cold front will move in from the west on Thursday, bringing some rain before a high-pressure ridge settles over the state on Saturday.

NT: A big high pressure system in the southeast of Australia is bringing in winds from the southeast through the Northern Territory. This is keeping the south sunny this week. The north will still see showers and thunderstorms due to a more humid easterly wind flow.
