Australian State Summaries

QLD: A low-pressure system is bringing rain to the southeast coast and southwest of Queensland. It will move eastward, with a chance of heavy rain in southern Queensland. The rain will gradually ease and move offshore by tomorrow. Showers will continue in northern and central Queensland, then clear up by the weekend as a high-pressure system moves in from the west.

NSW and ACT: A big storm over the southern Tasman Sea will calm down soon, causing strong winds and dangerous waves to decrease. A high pressure system will form in the west. A rainstorm in Queensland will move south to New South Wales, then a dry wind will follow. A cold front will bring more dry weather.

VIC: A strong high pressure system near Tasmania is bringing clear skies to most of the country. A low pressure system in the Tasman Sea will slowly move southeast as the high weakens. A cold front will bring some showers to Victoria on Thursday, with a stronger front expected on Friday.

SA: A high pressure ridge over SA will shift east as a weak cold front moves across the southern part of the state today. Another weak cold front will affect the southeast on Friday, followed by a new high pressure system moving into the Bight over the weekend.

WA: A low-pressure system will hang around the west Pilbara coast for most of the week, causing unsettled weather conditions.

TAS: A strong high pressure ridge and deep low pressure system in the Tasman Sea are causing east to southeasterly winds across the state. The ridge will weaken as a weak front passes late tonight into Thursday. A new weak ridge will form before a strong cold front moves through on Friday evening, bringing a stable westerly airstream for Saturday.

NT: A line of unsettled weather is moving through central Australia, causing rain and storms in a humid air current. High pressure in the southern part of the Northern Territory will shift the unsettled weather northward towards the Top End over the next few days.
