QLD: A weak band of low pressure will stick around northern Queensland for a couple of days, while a weak area of high pressure spreads over southern Queensland. A new band of low pressure will approach from the southwest on Tuesday and move eastward across Queensland on Wednesday. The southern part of the low-pressure system might move off the southeast coast early on Thursday, as a weak band of low pressure remains over northern Queensland for a few days.
NSW and ACT: A storm system off the eastern coast of New South Wales will cause rainy, windy weather along the central and southern coasts. Conditions should improve later in the week as the system moves away and high pressure builds in. Showers and storms may return in the northeast by mid week.
VIC: A strong high-pressure system is in the Great Australian Bight with a ridge extending towards Tasmania. A low-pressure system is over the Tasman Sea and will gradually move southeast. A cold front is expected to approach from the west on Wednesday, weakening as it crosses south of Victoria on Thursday.
SA: A big high pressure system near the Bight will shift southeast on Tuesday, bringing a mild cold front to the south later in the week.
WA: Former Cyclone Dianne is heading east through the Northern Interior. A trough will stay put near the west Pilbara coast all week.
TAS: A cool breeze from the southeast will stick around Tasmania for a few days. A high pressure system near the Bight will bring calm weather to the south, while a low pressure system forms in the Tasman Sea. The high will move away slowly, with a chance of rain on Thursday.
NT: Northern Territory: The monsoon trough is bringing rainy and stormy weather to the Top End. A ridge is keeping the south mostly dry. Ex-Tropical Cyclone Dianne is moving towards the NT from Western Australia. Western Australia: Ex-Tropical Cyclone Dianne is currently situated over the interior of the state and is expected to head towards the Northern Territory in the coming days.
