QLD: A ridge will stay over most of the state for a few days. A trough will stick around the southwest before moving to northern Queensland by Wednesday, turning into a monsoon trough. Winds will pick up along the northeast coast starting tomorrow.
NSW and ACT: A high-pressure ridge is forming in the south and east, causing stable weather. A trough along the north coast will weaken. Another trough will stretch across Queensland and northern New South Wales, bringing southerly winds. Expect brief southerly changes on Monday and mid-week due to troughs and fronts passing to the south.
VIC: A strong high pressure system near the Bight will move eastwards towards the Tasman Sea by Sunday night. Another high will form south of South Australia next week, creating a ridge over Bass Strait. This will bring stable weather conditions between the two high pressure systems.
SA: A light area of high pressure is over the south, while a warm and unstable tropical air mass is in the north. These conditions will continue today, with the tropical air mass moving towards the east at the beginning of the week.
WA: A weather system in Kimberley is getting stronger, with another near the Pilbara coast. A tropical low is developing far north of Pilbara and is expected to stay offshore, moving slowly before heading southwest next week.
TAS: A high pressure system will move over South Australia and Tasmania this weekend, bringing calm winds. By Monday, winds will shift to the west before a weak cold front arrives later in the day. The high pressure system will then bring light winds to Tasmania on Tuesday and Wednesday.
NT: A weak monsoon flow is bringing heavy rain to central and southern NT. A low pressure system over Gregory will move to western Queensland soon. Thunderstorms will clear northwards as a ridge strengthens in Lasseter. Monsoon showers will continue in the north next week.
