QLD: A high-pressure system will be dominant over most of the state for a few days. A weak area of low pressure may stick around in the southwest region, losing strength by Tuesday. A fresh burst of wind could hit the northeast coast on Monday or Tuesday. A wide area of low pressure may spread over Cape York Peninsula from Wednesday.
NSW and ACT: A cold front and trough will bring rain and storms to the state today. A southerly change will move up the coast and stall near the Hunter region tonight. A high pressure system will form to the south while a trough brings more rain to the western inland until midweek.
VIC: A cold front in East Gippsland will move east, bringing cooler weather in the morning. A weak high pressure system will come after, moving through Bass Strait over the weekend and into the Tasman Sea by Monday.
SA: A low-pressure system is moving through the northeast of South Australia, then staying near the northern border until next week. A weak area of high pressure is settling over the south today and will stick around over the weekend and into next week.
WA: A large area of low pressure is sitting over the north. A tropical low has developed far out in the ocean near the Pilbara coast and is predicted to remain there all weekend.
TAS: A strong area of high pressure will stay put over the Tasman Sea until the weekend. A mild front will pass over the state on Saturday afternoon, followed by a weak high on Sunday. Another mild front will move through the state on Monday.
NT: A large area of low pressure will hang around central parts of the Northern Territory, causing an increase in humidity in central and southern areas, especially starting this weekend.
