In the southern interior, expect partly cloudy skies and maybe a shower or thunderstorm in the far southwest, while showers are scattered elsewhere with possible thunderstorms north of Mackay. Showers will likely become widespread with periods of rain along the tropical east coast, St Lawrence, Cape York Peninsula, and Gulf Country, with potential for moderate falls and heavy falls possible in the northeast tropical coast and southern Gulf coast. Temperatures will be around average in the southwest and southern interior, but well below average in the far northwest and near or below average elsewhere.

Wednesday, 19th March

Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the far southwest and southern interior, partly cloudy in the southeast, scattered showers elsewhere with thunderstorms in the west and northern Queensland, widespread rain and moderate falls along the tropical east coast, far northwest, and northern interior with locally heavy falls in the northeast tropical and southern Gulf coast, and temperatures well below average in inland central and northwestern Queensland but slightly above average in the far southwest.

In the southern interior, expect partly cloudy skies with isolated to scattered showers in other areas, and don't be surprised if thunderstorms pop up in western Queensland and northern regions north of Ayr; widespread showers may turn into areas of rain along the tropical east coast, southern Cape York Peninsula, and far northwest, possibly with moderate to heavy falls, while maximum temperatures will be below or well below average in central, northwestern, and interior northern Queensland, but near average elsewhere.
